Concert – Ghost

On Thursday the 12th of November I went to Sentrum Scene, Oslo to see Ghost again for the 3rd time. This concert was the best I’ve ever been to with them and I also got a very nice surprise from Papa Emeritus III himself.

Ghost was formed in Sweden in 2008 and are know going big. Ghost are easily recognizable because of their eccentric on-stage presence. Five of the group’s six members wear silver masks with horns, and the vocalist appears wearing a skull mask and is dressed as a “demonic anti-Pope”. The band’s members keep their identities secret and their names have not been publicly disclosed; the vocalist calls himself Papa Emeritus and the musicians are referred to only as Nameless Ghouls. – This information is from Wikipedia.

All the pictures are taken by me. They’re all taken with a compact camera and from the audience’s point of view. Because of that, quality can vary.

They had two nuns who practiced a “body and blood” ritual in the audience. You could apply for this role and I did, sadly I didn’t get the chance to be one of the nuns. It looked very cool, though.

This is moments before Papa surprises me with a very intimate meeting. This is when they’re performing “Cirice” and he leans over my face and our noses almost touch. He stares into my eyes and I stare into his and we sing parts of “Cirice” together like this. It felt like time stood still and that we were the only ones in the room. It felt amazing! Everything gets better when he takes his right hand and touches my cheek with a gentle touch. He then continues to stare into my eyes for some time. Before he goes back on stage he pokes my nose with his finger and stare at me for a tiny bit longer. This is clearly one of my best concert experiences.

They gave us an amazing concert and I look very forward to see them again. I’m very happy with my pictures and I think they look very nice. I love how theatrical they are on stage and how well this is put together. I also love that they’re from Sweden. That’s not far from here. Guess I can just cross the border sometimes and see them perform more often.
